Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition Now Accepting Submissions

The 33rd Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition starts October 31, 2012.
Former winners include Edinburgh Festival favorites DAVID CROWE and DWIGHT SLADE, MATT WEINHOLD, TOM COTTER, and the late legendary MITCH HEDBERG, among others.
Minimum $10,000 in cash prizes.

If you are a comedian and would like to be considered for the Competition, please fill out our Application Form to get the process started.

Applications are accepted June 1 through September 1, 2012.

RIP John Fox

Today, we lost another great comedian to a battle with cancer.
Since the late 70s comedian John Fox had been sharing laughs. Diagnosed with cancer he began the John Fox Memorial Fund which provides free cancer screenings for working comedians.

Upcoming Comedy Festivals & Contests

June is busy with comedy at festivals. In Canada the annual FunnyFestCalgary Comedy Festival and contest is coming up May 31 - June 10.  Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee houses Comedy Central® stages and some top comedians.  Comic Bible correspondent, Ally Bruener will be on hand for some live blogging -right here - and coverage for the next issue of the magazine. NY Shorts and the Vimeo festival in NY promise fun films and events. Reggie Watts will be the keynote speaker at Vimeo. Viaero Great American Comedy festival is June 13 - 17, 2012. A great line-up and finalists in both their amateur and professional contests are listed on the website at, www2.greatamericancomedyfestival.com.

North Carolina:
The 10th Annual Charleston Comedy Festival — produced by Theatre 99 and the Charleston City Paper — is currently accepting applications for this year's festival.
Festival dates are January 16 - 19, 2013.
Submission deadline is October.
All comedy artists — improv, sketch, stand up, you name it — are welcome to apply.


Massachusetts

Boston Comedy Festival
Taking submissions for it's annual events in November and currently running contests. To submit check the website

Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival will take place October 10-14. Comics should check the site for upcoming submission information.

New York

Annual November event. Just announced dates and a Stand Up for Heroes show. Currently taking submissions for it's comedy competition.

Stand Up 360 - New Guns Contest
Also in November the 2nd annual festival will again have a new comedy competition. Sponsored by Broadway and New York Comedy Clubs. Produced by Al Martin, Eric Hanson and Dustin Chafin. Last year's winner Guilio Galloratti went off to England to perform, won prizes and garnered industry and press attention. Check the website for details on entering.

Iowa Comedy Festival & C-4 Competition
